The aim of this contribution is to identify research directions for Expert Systems and knowledge-based Decision Support Systems, focussing on the end-user point of view. Following a review of Decision Support System and Expert System purposes, and a presentation of some existing Expert System taxonomies and some design methodologies, we conclude in favour of the integration of an end-user model within the design process of such systems.Subjects / Keywords
