Abstract (EN)
The management of a common-pool resource, such as water, is challenging. It faces numerous problems and drought events make it even more complex and uncertain, by increasing the level of conflicts among water uses and users. Nowadays, there is an increasing interest in enhancing multi-stakeholder decision-making processes to overtake binding mercantile business in water management domain. This requires the development of dynamic decision aiding tools, able to integrate the different problem frames held by the decision makers and to support the creation of a collaborative process providing interaction spaces. In literature, these issues are faced by the concepts such as Ostrom’s action arena and Ostanello-Tsoukiàs’ interaction space (IS), studying how the establishment of local regulations and rationalities, may help escaping from market regulations and facilitating stakeholders’ interactions. Within this context, a dynamic interaction space is described highlighting operative criticalities of the IS and formalizing its possible evolutions. The business-as-usual scenario of a System Dynamics model is used as a platform to explore the interactions and interdependencies between various stakeholders in a water management case study.Subjects / Keywords
